OUR STORY

A Promise to Bailey

Several years ago, my life transformed forever when a 3-pound silky terrier named Bailey "Balooja" entered my world. I discovered a dog who needed me deeply due to his chronic health challenges.

Bailey battled epilepsy, developmental delays, and eventually brain cancer.

During our time together, I fell completely in love with him. This tiny creature became the reason my heart would forever be dedicated to dogs in need. Every rescue I help today stems from a promise I made to my little boy—as I cradled him in my arms, whispering "heaven isn't a bad place," kissing him while my heart shattered within.

As he was slipping away, I promised him: "I will fight for dogs like you." How can a dog transform a person so completely? Bailey showed me that life extended beyond myself, revealing my deeper purpose. Protecting innocent beings became my calling. Even in death, my boy remains a hero just as he was in life. I loved you yesterday, I love you today, and I'll love you always, my baby boy. A promise made is a promise kept.
